Smarties! asked:
My best friend, who is 18, CANNOT afford a puppy, yet she’s in the process of buying a $600 papi/pomeranian. She has a ferret and a kitten (which she’s had for two weeks, and hasn’t taken to the vet yet). Her first month into owning an apartment (which allows animals) and she’s already $150 short on rent. She CANNOT afford this puppy, but she wants it, and will literally put herself in debt over it. I refuse to lend her money (I’m currently living at home, saving for college this September). How can I get her to back out of buying this puppy she’s “so in love with…it was love at first sight, and I HAD to have her.”? It’s not worth going into debt over…plus she can’t afford vet bills either.
